Manassas Man Injured, Charged With Reckless Driving in Gunston Road Crash

The accident knocked out power for homes along Mason Neck for hours on Wednesday evening.

A 25-year-old Manassas man as been charged with reckless driving after crashing into a tree and a telephone poll along Gunston Road in Lorton on Wednesday afternoon. 

Driver Christopher Cooper was medevaced to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Cooper was driving south on Gunston Rd. near Springfield Dr. at around 2:40 p.m. when his car went off the road, hit a telephone pole and a tree and flipped over. 

The crash shut down that portion of Gunston Road for an hour-and-a-half and knocked out power for a number of homes along Mason Neck until Wednesday evening, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.
