Body Found on Occoquan Identified; Husband Charged With Murder

Fairfax County Police have identified the body of Andrea Crew of Alexandria as the woman found floating Saturday on the Occoquan River and have charged her husband, 25-year-old Caleb Crew, with murder. 

Andrea Crew, 31, a mother of two living in the 8000 block of Gila Court in Alexandria, was found by a boater at around 9 a.m. on Saturday. 

Caleb Crew was arrested at the Mount Vernon District Station, was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and was served with a warrant charging him with murder, the police department said in a news release.

According to police, Andrea Crew was last seen near a bank in the 5500 clock of Cherokee Ave. on Aug. 7, and was reported missing the following day. She was transported to the Fairfax County Medical Examiner's office where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the manner of her death.
