National Night Out in Lorton Park

Tuesday, August 6th is National Night Out, a nation-wide program to strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.  The Lorton Library, Lorton Community Action Center (LCAC) and South County Cares are teaming up to host a fabulous evening for families in Lorton Park that night.  We’ll have free hot dogs and drinks, arts and crafts projects, balloon animals, tattoos, and visits from our community police officers.  The fun starts at 6:00 pm and runs until 7:30.  But don’t go home yet, because at 7:30 there will be a free concert by The Amazing Gospel Souls, a singing group made up of men who were all incarcerated at Lorton prison in the past.  These men are now teachers, counselors, ministers, and pastors.  They have a great sound, and between songs, share their amazing stories.  You won’t want to miss it.  No sign-up necessary, and everything is free!  We hope you’ll join us and bring your neighbors.
