Friends of Mason Neck State Park Hosting Fall Picnic

Bring your camera… and a sweater.

Have you seen Mason Neck State Park in the fall? The wind is brisk and the forest is flush with red, orange, yellow and brown splotches. Watch out, though. All that looking up might just result in walking into a tree.
Luckily, on Sat. Oct. 12, you can rely on the buddy system to avert catastrophe as the Friends of Mason Neck State Park will be having a picnic at 12:30 p.m.

Membership in the organization is $20, and once you're in you'll be able to help "conserve, enhance, and interpret the Park’s natural, educational, recreational, cultural and historic resources," according to the Friends website. "We have fun doing worthy things! We sponsor picnics, kayak trips, show-and-tell, volunteer activities and other special events."

Park admission is free if you're going to the picnic. And if you are going, send a note to geninfo@masnonneckstateparkfriends.org.

See you there!
