The Powerball jackpot is now up to a mind-boggling half billion dollars. Yes, $500 million. Lottery officials say there is a 60 percent (or better) chance that someone will win in Wednesday night’s drawing for the largest Powerball jackpot ever. Tickets are themselves a hot-ticket item.
