A sobriety checkpoint is scheduled for the West Springfield Police District.
In preparation for residents celebrating St. Patrick's Day, Fairfax County Police plan to include additional patrol units throughout the weekend for safety purposes, said PIO Lucy Caldwell. As a precaution, FCPD also has a sobriety checkpoint scheduled in the West Springfield Police District, which includes Lorton. Caldwell said FCPD is urging motorists to designate a non-drinking driver if they plan to consume alcoholic beverages this weekend. Motorists are asked to call 9-1-1 if they witness an impaired driver on the roads and provide dispatch with an exact location and the direction of travel to better assist FCPD. Here's a look at criminal activity in the past week as reported by Franconia District and West Springfield District Police Stations. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. Franconia Police District A man was seen peeping through a window in the 6200 block of Roudsby Lane at around 9:15 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26. The suspect is a white male and wore a black jacket, blue jeans and a blue shirt. Other events: West Springfield A homeowner in the 6000 block of Harvester Court found his home burgled at around midnight on Feb. 24, 2012.
