The yoga studio is taking off!

How can we function in this world of stress? Lorton's "Centered Being" yoga studio in the Shoppes of Lorton Valley aims to reduce your tension level by a few notches and help you achieve balance.  "We're all trying to make sense of our stress," said Centered Being owner Suzie Carmack to Patch. "And I have found that this work, this mind-body yoga work, has been profoundly helpful for me in negotiating my way through life." The Lorton-based company has 1,500 locations in development around the country - here's a bit more behind the business

Looking for one of the best burgers in town? Five Guys Burgers and Fries, which is headquartered in Lorton, opened their first location to little fanfare in 1986 -and now, the company, which has more than 1,000 restaurants nationwide, reports that 1,500 locations are in development.  The recipe for their success is not complicated: The chain only sells fresh burgers, sandwiches, hot dogs and fries. Want a salad? You'll have to go somewhere else.  "Find something you love to do and just do it. Make sure your heart's in it," said Five Guys CEO Jerry Murrell in a recent interview with USA Today. What kind of retail business would you like to see here?

There's an open storefront at 8971 Ox Rd., suite 170. The 1,200 square foot space at the Shoppes of Lorton Valley is between a jewelry shop and a realtor, and can't be used as a restaurant, according to the landlord.
