Area crime events for the week preceding March 1, as reported by the Fairfax County Police Department.
A Lorton woman is in custody after allegedly breaking into an area home and allegedly attempting to assault the homeowner. Celeste Jones, 30, was arrested and charged with burglary with the intent to assault after allegedly trying to break into a home in the 7500 block of Woodside Lane in Lorton. Area crime events for the week preceding Feb. 22, as reported by the Fairfax County Police Department.
A business was broken into in the 8500 block of Terminal Road in Lorton on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2013. An employee reported that a safe was stolen, and that entry was made through a window. Other Crime events A business owner reported that his property was burglarized in the 8500 block of Terminal Road, Feb. 14, 2013, and that he say three individuals break out of the business window. Area crime events for the week preceding Feb. 15, as reported by the Fairfax County Police Department.
A 25-year-old man is in custody for allegedly igniting an incendiary device at the Sub Shop in Lorton last week. Horace Thompson, 25, of no fixed address, was arrested by Washington Metropolitan Police on Feb. 14, after his release from the Washington Burn Center. He was arrested on a "Fugitive from Justice" warrant, and will be transferred to Fairfax County, where he will be served with warrants for arson of an occupied building and aggravated malicious wounding. A Lorton woman is unhurt after reporting that a man forced his way into her home Saturday night and stole cash and other items. At around 11 p.m., the 35-year-old victim was alone watching television in her home in the 7600 block of Wiley Drive, when there was a knock at the door. She answered, and the suspect allegedly pushed his way in. The victim reportedly left the home and called police. The incident occurred late Saturday night in Lorton.
A Lorton woman is unhurt after reporting that a man forced his way into her home Saturday night and stole cash and other items. At around 11 p.m., the 35-year-old victim was alone watching television in her home in the 7600 block of Wiley Drive, when there was a knock at the door. She answered, and the suspect allegedly pushed his way in. The victim reportedly left the home and called police. The suspect is described as a white male wearing dark clothing and gloves, in his late 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, 150 pounds, with blue eyes. The incident is under investigation. Lorton area crime events for the week preceding Jan. 25, as reported by the Fairfax County Police Department.
The following information was supplied by the Fairfax County Police Department. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. Fairfax County Police were called last Wednesday at around 7:45 p.m. after receiving reports of gunshots fired near the 7900 block of Gunston Woods Place in Lorton. Officers found that the suspect and the victim knew each other and had gotten into an argument. The suspect had fired several shots as a guest left his home.
