Thompson faces charges for arson and assault.
The preliminary court date for Horace Thompson, the 25-year-old suspect in the February explosion at the Sub Shop restaurant in Lorton, has been continued to July 31. Thompson has been declared by Fairfax County Police as an "associate" of Sub Shop owner Lawrence Reese. Reese and Thompson were both injured by the blast, which came from inside the sandwich shop, located at 9504 Richmond Hwy., at around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6. Thompson, whose hands and face were burned, is charged with arson of an occupied building and assault. Horace Thompson was arrested by Washington Metropolitan Police last month after his release from the Washington Burn Center.
A preliminary hearing date has been set for Horace Thompson, the 25-year-old suspect charged with igniting an incendiary device at the Sub Shop in Lorton in February. Thompson, who has no fixed address, will make a plea in Fairfax County Criminal Court on May 8. The Sub Shop was destroyed on the morning of Wednesday, Feb 6, when an incendiary device exploded. A 25-year-old man is in custody for allegedly igniting an incendiary device at the Sub Shop in Lorton last week. Horace Thompson, 25, of no fixed address, was arrested by Washington Metropolitan Police on Feb. 14, after his release from the Washington Burn Center. He was arrested on a "Fugitive from Justice" warrant, and will be transferred to Fairfax County, where he will be served with warrants for arson of an occupied building and aggravated malicious wounding.
