OM Is Where The Breath Is
The New Me: A Giant Walking Rupee
India was interesting, unexpected in some ways
Just about the entire Golden Triangle – Delhi, Agra & Jaipur – consisted of people in all shapes, sizes and castes attempting to pull the Indian Jedi mind trick. “Haloo Madam! You want (insert unnecessary commercial Indian product here)?” What is your job title, exactly? As we approach our elephant that ferries us to Amber Fort a man starts chatting me up in Spanish. I exercise my inner sadist and let him go on about selling me an elephant photo op. We finally reach the elephant, I turn to him and stare him square in the face. “I. Don’t. Speak. Spanish,” I say. He laughs. “Oh, hallo madam.” I ignore him and mount my ride. Soon, men on the ground start soliciting us for trinkets and photos. From the ground and we’re on a freaking elephant…
