Fairfax Board Approves Fares for New Express Bus Service to Tysons
Three express buses will run from Burke, Lorton and Springfield to Tysons starting in spring.
The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors approved on Tuesday the fares for the new express bus service that will transport residents from the Burke, Lorton and Springfield areas to Tysons Corner. The plan for the three bus services was approved in September, but the fare schedule was approved during the board’s meeting last Tuesday. According to a news release from Fairfax County, a regular one-way fare will be $3.65 per trip. Fares for senior citizens and those with disabilities will be $1.80. In addition, riders can also transfer to another local bus for free. Those who commute by rail and transfer to the express bus can receive 50 cents off the regular fare.
