Police: Sex Offense Not Connected to Springfield Area Assaults

The following items are from recent police updates through Dec. 26 from the West Springfield and Franconia police districts of the Fairfax County Police Department. Sex Offense (blue on map), 2 p.m., Dec. 24, 7800 block of Lambkin Court, A 19-year-old victim reported she was walking home when a man grabbed her from behind. He touched her inappropriately and fled when she screamed. She was not injured. This is not connected to the series of Springfield area assaults. Police: Vehicle Crashes Cause Major Injuries

The following items are from recent police updates through Dec. 12 from the Franconia and West Springfield police districts of the Fairfax County Police Department. Vehicle Crash (blue on map), 4 p.m., 12/12/12, 10000 block of Richmond Highway, A vehicle traveling south on Richmond Highway made a left turn in front of another vehicle. The two cars crashed into each other. Both drivers were transported to the hospital. The passenger in the first vehicle was transported with life-threatening injuries. Police: Sexual Assault Reported on Richmond Highway

On the above map, the addresses are block numbers, not specific home or business addresses. The following items are from recent police updates through Nov. 28 from the Franconia and West Springfield police districts of the Fairfax County Police Department. Sexual Assault (blue on map), 5:35 p.m., 11/21/12, 9400 block of Richmond Highway, An 18-year-old victim reported she was walking home when someone grabbed her buttocks from behind. He fled when she turned to look at him. He was described as Hispanic, approximately 20-40 years old and 5’6” to 5’8” tall. This is not believed to be linked to the “Springfield Area Assaults.” In separate and unrelated incidents: Larcenies (red on map): No vehicle thefts were reported at the time.

Police: Robbery Reported on Sheffield Village Lane

The following items are from recent police updates through Nov. 20 from the Franconia and West Springfield police districts of the Fairfax County Police Department. Robbery (blue on map), 7600 block of Sheffield Village Lane, 11/19/12, 6:50 p.m. Victim reported that while walking, he was assaulted by four men, one of whom threatened him with a knife. The suspects took shoes and a cell phone from the victim. All suspects described as black, 17 to 20 years old. The following items are from recent police updates through Nov. 14 from the Franconia and West Springfield police districts of the Fairfax County Police Department. Assault/Destruction (red on above map), 9600 block of Eaton Woods Place, 11/10/12, 1:45 a.m. The victim called police because her ex-boyfriend had shown up at the house. The 17-year-old Woodbridge boy allegedly began kicking the door. He eventually broke into the home and officers arrived. He fled out the back of the house and was captured in the nearby woods. Officers checked and found evidence that someone had been in the home. Forced entry was made through a rear door. Robbery (marked in blue on above map), 7800 block of Shepherd Hills Court, 10/7/12, 9:20 p.m. The victim was walking when three suspects approached. One displayed a gun and demanded money. The victim attempted to run. He was caught and struck with a fist. The suspects fled with cash. The victim received minor injuries.
