Beth El Hebrew Congregation hosted a candidates' brunch.
Candidates in three state senate races fielded questions from constituents at a candidates’ brunch at Beth El Hebrew Congregation in Alexandria on Sunday. The brunch was hosted by the Brotherhood of Beth El Congregation. 36th District candidates Jeff Frederick and Sen. Toddy Puller, 39th District candidates Miller Baker and Sen. George Barker, and 31st District candidate Barbara Favola. Favola’s opponent, Caren Merrick, was not present. The National Federation of Independent Businesses have announced its endorsement of Senate candidate Jeff Frederick.
The National Federation for Independent Businesses (NFIB) has announced its endorsement of Senate candidate Jeff Frederick. The NFIB, along with Virginia's Save America's Free Enterprise (SAFE) Trust, have endorsed Frederick becuase he is supportive of small businesses. The organization has 6,000 members in Virginia. The SAFE Trust consists of NFIB members. 36th District candidate launches petition against increasing debt limit
Virginia State Senate candidate Tito Muñoz today started a petition to call on Congress to avoid raising the debt ceiling. Muñoz is calling on voters to sign the petition via his website, which will be sent to Virginia Senators Mark Warner and Jim Webb, and members of Congress. Meanwhile, elected officials have been racing against the clock to come to a resolution before the Aug. 2 deadline. Muñoz, a small business owner, stresses job creation, economic expansion, and reduced taxes for businesses in his campaign for the Republican nomination.
