Frederick Defeats Muñoz in 36th Senate Seat Primary
Jeff Frederick will now take on incumbent Toddy Puller in the November General Election.
In a sweeping victory, Jeff Frederick won the Republican primary for the 36th Senate seat Tuesday night, despite intermittent earthquakes throughout the day. Frederick announced to a crowd of supporters in Dumfries that he received the call that he won the primary Tuesday night. Frederick held the lead early when precincts began reporting votes after polls closed at 7 p.m. In Prince William County, Frederick gained 76.80 percent, or 2,626 votes, of the unofficial tally, according to the Virginia State Board of Elections website. Challenger Tito Muñoz brought in 793 votes from the county, or 23.19 percent of the vote. Muñoz is right on! Of course the senate 36th district constituents are concerned about politics at the state and national levels! With the US economy in the tank, and rampant unemployment while food and gas prices rise, these issues are kitchen table issues in the 36th! Frederick is certainly out of touch with the people he strives to represent!   more ›
