Former Virginia Governor Tim Kaine joined state Senator Toddy Puller for her canvass kickoff on Saturday outside the home of Paul Siegel. Puller, a Democrat, is the incumbent running for re-election for her state Senate seat in the 36th District. Joining Kaine was state Delegate Scott Surovell, who is running for re-election in the 44th District Delegate campaign, and Dan Storck, who is running for Fairfax County School Board re-election for the Mt. Vernon District.

36th District candidate promises to oppose “any and all” tax hikes.
Republican senate candidate Tito Munoz signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge yesterday, stating his commitment to fighting tax hikes affecting Virginia citizens. The Taxpayer Protection Pledge is the signature project of Americans for Tax Reform, a nonprofit lobbying organization founded in 1985 at the request of President Ronald Reagan. The organization’s mission is to “oppose all tax increases as a matter of principle.” According to the organization's website, 236 U.S. Representatives and 41 U.S. Senators in the 112th Congress have signed the pledge. Former congressman Tom Davis (VA-11) announced today that he is endorsing former Delegate Jeff Frederick for the 36th District Senate race. Portions of Virginia's 11th Congressional District overlap with the new 36th State Senate District in Fairfax and Prince William Counties. Tea Party activist and commentator Andrew Breitbart praised Virginia senatorial candidate Tito Munoz on Univision’s “Al Punto” news program last Sunday morning.
