Stallions Scrimmage, Hula Hoop, Family Fun Day and Winnie the Pooh

The summer is almost over! We hope you enjoy the last of it. Here are a few events this weekend in the Lorton area: 

1. The South County Stallions are playing a football scrimmage at Freedom High School in Woodbridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. 

2. Sentara Lorton Marketplace is having a Family Fun Day complete with firefighters, face painting and crafts Saturday, Aug. 17.

3. Hula let the dogs out? Anybody? No? Well, the Workhouse Arts Center is hosting s “Free Hula on the Quad” event at 8 a.m. Saturday. Hoops will be provided.    

4. The weekend is full of activity at the Workhouse. Here are some more events: 

• Winnie the Pooh Live on Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 p.m. 
• Lori Williams will sing on the Quad on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. 
• Cabaret Series at the theatre, Saturday, 8:00 p.m. 
• Date Night, 8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
