It's the last week of summer! How about that. Here are some other notable things going on this week in and around the Lorton area. 

The Week Ahead

1. On Monday, U.S. Rep. Jim Moran (D-8th) will speak about how individuals and families will be impacted by the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Healthcare Act  at T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria. The discussion begins at 7:00 p.m.

2. The Workhouse Arts Center is hosting seminars on becoming a successful artist on Tues. and Wed.

  • Winnie the Pooh will be live onstage at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday

  • There’s jazzercise on the Workhouse Quad  every day of the week

    • 4.  The 2-0 South County Stallions Varsity Football squad is traveling to Chantilly this Friday. Gametime is 7:30 p.m.

    5. Gunston Hall Conversations - a chance to speak with Revolutionary-period re-enactors at the Lorton home of founding father George Mason, is this Sunday.
