Spend The 20th Annual National Public Lands Day By Volunteering at Lorton's Meadowood Special Recreation Management Area

Join thousands of volunteers to beautify the country on Sept. 28.

Get out your work clothes, because you could join over 175,000 volunteers across the country on National Public Lands Day on Sat., Sept. 28, 2013. In Lorton, you can recognize the day with nature by volunteering at the Meadowood Special Recreation Management Area and helping other volunteers finish painting their boundary fence.

The boundary fence project began last year, when volunteers finished a large section of the 2,337-foot-long three-board perimeter fence.

Volunteers will be given lunch, water, snacks and a National Public Lands Day T-shirt. Paint and brushes will be provided.
