Partnering with the LCAC Makes for a Stronger Community

And it helps your neighbors.

When we try to do things by ourselves, we get burned out and may never get very far. Why do you think Batman works with Robin? Partnerships are critical in community work, and I'm excited about a new partnership between the Lorton Community Action Center and the Workhouse Arts Center.

"LCAC Night", our first event, will be held on Saturday, April 14, at the Workhouse Theatre. Please bring a non-perishable item (canned fruit, rice or canned/dried beans) to donate! Drop off area will be located in the lobby of Building W-3. The show, “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” is a musical comedy about six young people overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves. They learn that winning isn't everything and that losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser. “The Bee” is hilarious. Not only will you have a great time, but you can help others right here in Lorton at the same time!  To reserve your tickets for this show, call the Workhouse Arts Center at (703) 584-2900, or go online to www.workhousearts.org.

Numerous individuals and businesses including Vulcan Materials, Covanta Energy, EnviroSolutions and Bode Technology, along with many others, have been amazing partners who, over the years, have given time, leadership and funds to LCAC. This has which has allowed us to reach more families in need.

LCAC has also partnered with numerous faith communities over the years to make a difference in this community, including , , Temple B’nai Shalom and , along with many others have provided funds, volunteers and non-cash items over the years to impact families in a tangible way.

Thanks for your help with the LCAC. I look forward to seing you at the Workhouse!
