Linda Patterson Chosen To Head Lorton Community Action Center

The Lorton Community Action Center (LCAC) Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Linda Patterson has been selected as the permanent Executive Director of the agency.  

LCAC received numerous applications for the position, including one from Ms. Patterson.

"After careful review and consideration, there was no doubt that Linda was the top rated candidate for the position," said LCAC Board President Lynn Swogger. "Both the staff and the board are thrilled that she accepted the role."  

Prior to rejoining LCAC's staff as the Executive Director, Patterson worked with PMK Associates as Director of Operations and with the Mack Crounse Group, a large political firm, as the Vice President of Operations. At the Mack Crounse Group for almost 5 years, Linda managed a large staff through three political election cycles, coordinating workflow and managing the creative process, IT and human resources. 

 "It is exciting to be on such a talented staff, working with a dedicated Board and terrific volunteers," said Patterson. "I was amazed at holiday time by the generosity of the community as LCAC served record numbers of families.  The opportunities before us as a community, to make a difference in the lives of Lorton and Fort Belvoir residents, are endless! I am humbled to be a part of such a great agency." 

Patterson's work with LCAC includes serving as the agency's first Food Pantry Manager and then as Director of Emergency Services. She has been on staff at three United Methodist Churches, working with youth, education and mission responsibilities. Patterson lives in Alexandria, with her husband and two teenagers.
