Update: NOVA Barbecue Brawl Canceled in Lorton
The next event is Sept. 8 in Aldie, VA
UPDATE: Northern Virginia Magazine released this statement regarding the BBQ Brawl, which was called off due to the rain:
"Due to the storms in Lorton, the BBQ Brawl event on Aug. 25 has been canceled. We apologize for any inconvenience but want everyone to stay safe in the rainy weather. Our next BBQ event is scheduled for Sept. 8 at Pev’s Paintball in Aldie. Hope to see everyone there!"

More than 500 people have been invited on Facebook to attend the event, which offers free food and entertainment, raffles and a moonbounce.

"We're going to have the best of the best, the cream of the crop from the NOVA barbecue scene battling it out to determine the ultimate barbecue joint in the region, as voted by you," said Gabriella Nunez of the Lorton Station Town Center Merchants Association.
The BBQ Brawl will include:
- Free food
- Live music from band "Feed Good Cabbage"
- Half-priced beer
- Moonbounces and Sno-cones for the kids
