Lorton Fourth of July Events (And Pictures From Last Year)

A Parade, Park Events and More!

Do you have your outfit ready for the fourth of July? Lorton's big day is almost upon us. Here's what you can look forward to:Β 

Lorton legend Shep Crow is the Grand Marshal the Independence Day Parade, which begins at 11 a.m. at the Lorton Firehouse.

The ParadeΒ 

Staging for the parade will begin Thursday at 10:30 at the Lorton Firehouse, 7701 Armistead Road. Parade attendees should expect to see:Β 

  • R.O.T.C Hayfield/South CountyΒ 
  • LortonAmerican Legion Post 162 Lorton
  • Fairfax County Police, Fire and Rescue, Police Auxiliary
  • Lorton Volunteer Fire Department
  • South County Chamber of Commerce
  • Merchants of Lorton Town Center
  • Fairfax County Department of Transportation
July 4th continues in Lorton after the parade at Lorton Station Town Center. The free schedule of events includes:Β 
  • Moonbounces
  • Live Music
  • Games
  • Food and more!Β 
The festivities will last until 1 p.m.Β 

After the parade

The Independence Day celebration will continue at Mason Neck State Park, where visitors can participate in guided tours,Β "Water Bottle Rockets", and an "Eagles vs. Turkeys" trivia game. Click here for more.Β Β
