Hayfield softball and girls soccer bounce back with victories after tough defeat
After each suffered a tough defeat in their last outing, Hayfield’s softball and girls’ soccer team both picked up wins in rainy weather yesterday.
SOCCER
The Hawks beat Stuart yesterday on a goal by Katie Zatt at the 10-minute mark of the second half. Paige Gilliland was stellar in the goal for Hayfield and couple of key saves from her clinched the victory.

SOFTBALL
Hayfield scored 11 runs in the final three innings to break open a 6-6 game with Mount Vernon and win, 17-6.
Megan Perry-Shiffley had four hits including a double and homer to drive in three. Amber Fowler also drove in three with three hits, including a double and triple. Jessica Reynolds went four for four. Sam Perry-Shifflett joined sister Megan with three RBI. Taylor Neuhart came on in relief and picked up with three and-a-half innings of strong relief pitching.
Hayfield hosts Wakefield tomorrow.
