Lorton Sports Report - South County Softball Pitchers Hurl No-Hitter

And how the rest of the Hayfield and South County teams fared

A recap of Monday’s sports scores from Lorton area schools.

SOFTBALL

South County pitchers Rebecca Martin and Kyra Ketch combined to hold T.C. Williams hitless yesterday en route to 12-1, five-inning victory.

The Stallions are now 3-2 on the year. They’ll play West Springfield tomorrow.

LACROSSE

The Hayfield girls beat Edison 19-9 with Sarah Gunter having a stellar day, scoring 10 points on six goals and four assists. Alex Lambert added five goals and freshman Leah Brennan scored seven points on four goals. The girls will look for their third win in a row when they host Woodbridge tomorrow.

In boys’ action, Edison beat Hayfield 16-3, dropping the Hawks to 1-2 for the season. Hayfield travels to Woodbridge tomorrow to try to get back on the winning track.

South County’s girls fell to Herndon 12-7, while the boys also lost to Herndon 16-7.

TENNIS

Hayfield’s boys tennis team beat Mount Vernon, 6-3 for their second win against the Majors this year. Saif Khan, Allen Oronce and Kwang Rae Kim. The Khan-Oronce team picked up a doubles win also.

The South County boys beat Annandale, also by a 6-3 mark. Spenser Bullock, Tyler Lam, Jack Proctor and Adam Epstein won in singles.  Winning doubles were the teams of Daniel Shlossman and Proctor, and Matt Gates and Lam.

South County’s girls team beat Annandale, 7-2.

Both South County teams play West Potomac tomorrow.

BASEBALL

The South County baseball remained unbeaten with a 9-2 win over T.C. Williams. They'll attempt to stay unblemished tomorrow at West Springfield.
