South County opened the season by routing West Potomac 15-4. Tyler Frazier was dominant on the mound in a four-inning stint. The Stallions tallied 18 hits and were never headed. They take on rival Lake Braddock tonight.
Hayfield shutout Edison 5-0 thanks to the dominant pitching of Cory Spera who fanned 14 batters in a complete game. Brad Johnson had two doubles and Daniel Vega also had two hits. The Hawks take on Mount Vernon tomorrow.

Hayfield remained undefeated, beating Edison 14-3 in five innings. Amber Fowler got the win on the mound, pitching four innings. Fowler helped her cause with a homer and double driving home 4 runs.

Sam Perry-Shifflett smashed a two-run homer, doubled and tripled that chased home four runs, while her sister Megan had a double and single. Taryn McElhenny had 2 RBI. Taylor Neuhart excelled in the field and drove in a run.
