This Week at Schools in Lorton

First full week gives opportunity for parents to get involved

This week marks the first full week of school. School groups throughout Lorton will be meeting to get organized for the coming year. It is great opportunity for parents to get involved in their local schools and in their children's education.

Tonight, the South County PTSO meets in the library at 7pm to discuss general membership. The following night at 7, senior students and their parents will be gathering to discuss and plan events for the coming school year.

Also, on Tuesday, Lorton Station Elementary hold its Kindergarten Back to School Night. And the Laurel Hill PTA has its first meeting of the year. Both events begin at 7 and are held at the respective schools.

Laurel Hill has a Back to School Night of its own on Wednesday for grades Kindergarten, 2nd, 4th and 6th.

The following night grades 1, 3 and 5 get their due. On both nights the proceedings get under way at 6:30pm.
