Supporting Their Teams Support a Cure

South County teachers raise money by wearing their favorite teams' clothing

Earlier this month of South County teachers who put their passion for their favorite sports teams toward a good cause.

Chris Miller, a Virginia Tech fan, and Jeff Schneider, a Pittsburgh Steelers booster, challenged each other by wearing Hokies or Steelers clothing and raising money for cancer research in the process.

Every day that Miller and Schneider wore clothes with their teams’ logos, money was donated towards Team Heather, which is part of the national Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure organization.

The contest culminated at the recent talent show and when it was all said and done the two men raised $1,700.

Congratulations to both Chris and Jeff for doing good for a great cause.
