Mount Vernon High School Celebrates Student's Life

MVHS will hold a Celebration of Life ceremony in memory of Joshua Guice.

This evening  will celebrate the life of Joshua Guice, 16, a former student  on Dec. 5.

Joshua Tyler Guice was born on Feb. 15, 1995, in Aniston, Ala. He was raised in Quinlan, Texas, where he attended Ford High School before moving to Fort Belvoir this past summer. He came to Fort Belvoir to help his sister take care of his nephew while she was recovering from surgery. Guice started his junior year at MVHS in September.

Josh's interests included skateboarding and art, including photography, according to his mother, Ursula Blevins.

In addition to his mother, Josh is survived by his father Steve Dothard Smith; sisters Janie Lynn Smith, Alicia Smith, and Amber Cornelia Guice; stepfather Eddie Lee Blevins; and brother-in-law Ramsey Abbott.

The ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesday in Bratton Hall. For more information, please call (703) 619-3100.
