TJHSST Applications Available

Applications for the class of 2015 at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST) will be available beginning Monday, September 27.  Students enrolled in the eighth grade during the 2010-11 school year who live with their parents or legal guardians and reside full-time in a participating school division (the counties of Fairfax, Arlington, Fauquier, Loudoun, or Prince William or the city of Falls Church) and who are enrolled in Algebra 1 or higher level mathematics in grade 8 are eligible to apply for the class of 2015.

Applications will be available from a liaison counselor in all public middle schools and most private schools in the participating school divisions beginning Monday, September 27.  The application deadline is Friday, October 22.  When the application is submitted, a student is automatically registered to take the admissions test on Saturday, December 4.

A student handbook for test preparation is available for download from the admissions website at www.TJAdmissions.org.  Students without computer access will be able to obtain copies of the handbook from middle schools in all school divisions that participate in TJHSST.

All prospective students must complete and submit the freshman application to TJHSST by October 22 in order to register for the test and to be considered for admission. Enrollment in a test preparation course—including those offered by Fairfax County Public Schools Office of Adult and Community Education—does not mean a student has applied for admission to TJHSST.
