VDOT to Close I-95 in Both Directions Near Lorton at Midnight Tonight
Restringing of power lines should take about 30 minutes.
If you're traveling late tonight on Interstate 95 and live in Lorton, you might want to try to get home before midnight.
At 12 a.m. midnight tonight, near Exit 163 on Interstate 95 northbound and southbound (just north of Lorton Road) in Fairfax County, the Virginia Department of Transportation will close the interstate in both directions to allow for restringing of power lines, according to an announcement from Fairfax County.
The closure is estimated to last approximately 30 minutes. VDOT will not re-route traffic during this time. Alternate routes are suggested.
