Republican Lt. Governor Candidate E.W. Jackson Making Campaign Appearance in Springfield Tuesday

Jackson will speak at the Greenspring Retirement Community in Springfield.

E.W. Jackson, Virginia’s Republican candidate for lieutenant governor, will speak to the Greenspring Retirement Community in Springfield on Tues. Sept. 2, 2013.

Jackson will speak at 10:00 a.m.

Earlier this month, Jackson made controversial statements regarding the Democratic Party of Virginia.

“I believe that the Democrat Party has become an anti-God party, I think it’s an anti-life party, I think it’s an anti-family party,” Jackson in a radio interview, according to Salon. “And these are all things I think Christians hold to very dearly.” (Listen to audio of the exchange here.)

Jackson is no stranger to Greenspring. Most politicians running for office in Northern Virginia pay homage to the retirement community, which is home to more than 1,800 registered voters. The Greenspring precinct traditionally has the highest voter turnout percentage in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and 89 percent of them voted in the 2012 Presidential election.
