Photos of the Day: Jack Dobbyn Knocks on Doors

Call him the underdog. He's got less money, experience and friends than his Republican opponent, incumbent Dave Albo, but Jack Dobbyn still knocks on doors four hours a day, five days a week (He's lost 15 pounds since mid-May). Dobbyn is the Democratic nominee for Virginia's 42nd Delegate District.

Without financial support from the Democratic Party of Virginia, Dobbyn, 30, is running a bare bones campaign. Education and transportation are his main issues. 

"I love meeting people," Dobbyn told Patch while door-knocking on Tuesday, August 16. "This is how you find out what people really care about. I grew up in Mount Vernon where on Route 1 you have the haves living right next to the have nots and it has always surprised me."

Dobbyn will have to knock on a lot of doors. "Being underestimated is definitely where we want to be," he said before walking up to a house off Greeley Boulevard in Springfield.
