Fort Belvoir USO Warrior Center Opens Today

The facility will help men and women injured in the line of duty with the difficult process of recovery.

The 20,000 square foot facility is the largest USO facility ever constructed, and includes a business center, dining room, healing gardens, and game and music rooms for Wounded Warriors.

The center marks the launch of Operation Enduring Care, the USO’s $100 million campaign to support warriors and their families. Unlike Belvoir’s new $1 billion community hospital, the Warrior Transition Complex will be a non-critical care center designed to help assist with the transition from recovery to civilian life.

"This will be a place for wounded warriors and their families to be together as families, away from the hospital environment," said USO President Sloan Gibson at the groundbreaking event in June 2011. “A place where they can enjoy a home-cooked meal together, where children can play; a place of respite.”
