Trucker Dies in Fiery Crash at Fairfax County Parkway and I-95
UPDATE: Driver identified; roads to reopen by noon, police say.
UPDATE 11:45 a.m. Roadways should be reopened to traffic by noon, according to Virginia State Police, after a fatal fiery crash Wednesday morning.
The driver, Edwin H. Hall, 59, of Charles Town, W.Va., died at the scene, according to police. His remains have been transported to the Office of the Medical Examiner in Manassas for examination and autopsy.

UPDATE 8 a.m. Clean-up efforts in the Wednesday morning fatal truck crash will block Exit 166B on I-95 northbound as well as the ramp from VA-286 to I-95 northbound for most of the morning, according to a Fairfax County alert.
"These operations have potential to impact the afternoon commute as well. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route," a county alert advises.

UPDATE 7 a.m. The Washington Post's Dr. Gridlock reports that the right lane on I-95 North at the Fairfax County Parkway has reopened — all lanes of I-95 North are now open. Heavy delays still remain.
The exit to northbound Fairfax County Parkway remains closed, as does the ramp from southbound Fairfax County Parkway to Route 1.

A trucker is dead Wednesday morning after his fuel-laden truck overturned at about 2:14 a.m., on the cloverleaf ramp of Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) while attempting to merge onto Interstate 95 north, according to Virginia State Police.
The tanker truck was fully engulfed by fire. By 5 a.m., the fire was contained to where troopers and Fairfax County firefighters could safely approach the vehicle. The driver was located inside the vehicle deceased.
The far right lane of I-95 northbound remains closed but the three other lanes and HOV lanes remain open, according to state police. Exit 166B, the entrance ramp to Rt. 286 northbound, remains closed, as does the ramp from south Rt. 286 to Rt. 1.
The Virginia State Police Motor Carrier is on scene and the Virginia State Police Crash Reconstruction Team are assisting with the investigation. The tanker truck was loaded with approximately 9,000 gallons of fuel.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. State Police are still in the process of notifying next of kin of the deceased driver.
