Townhouse Fire Put Out Quickly

No injuries, damage limited

Fairfax County firefighters were called to 7708 Capron Court at approximately 1:40 this afternoon in response to a townhouse fire.

Neighbors called 911 and firefighters arrived to the scene quickly to put out the blaze within minutes, containing it to the attic.

Residents were not at home when the fire broke out, but a dog was rescued safely.

Operations Deputy Chief Andrew Duke said the proximity of the fire station on Armistead Road was critical to controlling the blaze, as it easily could have spread to neighboring townhomes.

No firefighters were injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
