Suspect Identified in Lorton Burglary

Homeowner called the cops when he saw suspect allegedly leaving his house

Derrick L. Royster, a 43-year-old resident of Washington, D.C., has been identified as the suspect in Thursday's burglary of a home in the 9200 block of Lee Masey Drive in Lorton. Royster was arrested a few blocks from the home shortly after 11:30 a.m. and charged with breaking and entering and grand larceny.

Fairfax County Police were alerted of the break-in when the homeowner arrived home and found the alleged suspect leaving with stolen items. Entry was forced via the back door of the home.

"He was arrested not far from the home, because we were close by and blanketed the area," said Fairfax County Police officer Eddie Azcarate.
