Police Update on Body Found in July

West Springfield District seeks public's assistance in identifying murder victim

Police are still searching for the person who murdered the man whose body was discovered in July.

The body was discovered in the 10200 block of Furnace Road in Lorton on July 12.

In an update to the Citizens Action Committee Wednesday evening, West Springfield Station Commander Captain Bruce Ferguson said an examination by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed the body was a male and had been murdered. Estimates place the time of death at approximately one year before discovery.

Police also released a description of the clothing and jewelry of the victim (see photos).

The man was of European descent but possibly East Asian or Hispanic, 5'3" and in his mid-30s to early 40s. He was wearing a green, American Eagle jacket and Cherokee pajama pants with a ski motif.
