Police: Pedestrian Fatality on Fairfax County Parkway Was Suicide
A traffic-related death of a 57-year-old pedestrian occurred March 11 near Fort Belvoir.
UPDATE: The traffic-related death of a 57-year-old pedestrian on the evening of March 11 near Fort Belvoir has been deemed a suicide.
Patrick Early, 57, of Washington DC, was struck and killed by a 1997 Ford pick-up truck at around 11:20 p.m. in an unlit section of the Fairfax County Parkway going south near Ehlers Road.

"He was standing in the roadway. We don't know why," said Fairfax County Police spokesperson Lucy Caldwell in a previous interview. "The driver saw the person standing there, he braked but it was too late."

Early was declared dead soon after arriving to the hospital.
