Police Blotter: South County's Holiday-Related Crimes

Lorton and Fairfax Station area crime events for the week preceding Jan. 4, as reported by the Fairfax County Police Department.

The following information was supplied by the Fairfax County Police Department. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

  • A Fort Belvoir homeowner held a suspect at gunpoint until police arrived at the home in the 6900 block of Inlet Cove Court. At around 1:21 a.m. that day, residents awoke to sounds of breaking glass. Corey Jamel Martin, 35, of 684 North Armistead Street in Alexandria, was charged with unlawful entry, felony destruction of property and possession of a controlled substance.
  • A home was burgled in the 8500 block of Chase Glen Circle. At around 1 p.m  on New Year's Eve, the 69-year-old homeowner returned home from a Christmas trip and discovered his home was burglarized sometime between then and Christmas day. The suspect broke in through a basement window and stole a credit card, costume jewelry and other personal items. 

Other Incidents

  • A Christmas ornament was stolen from a residence in the 8500 block of Fisher Woods Drive. 
  • A wallet was stolen from a vehicle in the 7700 block of Gunston Plaza. 
  • Food was stolen from a business in the 8200 block of Gunston Corner Lane. Jewelry was taken from a residence in the 5400 block of Masser Lane. 
  • Copper cables, wires and tools were stolen from a construction site in the 9300 block of Sanger Street. 
  • Four rings were stolen from a residence in the 8500 block of Silverdale Road.

  • A 38-year-old Lorton woman living in the 9800 block of Hagel Circle was arrested Dec. 27 for driving without a license.  
  • A 24-year-old Lorton woman living in the 9100 block of Colgrove Court was arrested Dec. 28 for petit larceny. 
  • A 29-year-old Lorton woman living in the 8100 block of McCauley Way was arrested for assault Dec. 28. 
  • A 19-year-old Lorton woman living in the 9600 block of Eaton Woods was arrested Dec. 30, for intentionally damaging a monument (valued at $1,000) and maliciously shooting a Train/Car/Boat (not clear which). 
  • A 24-year-old Fairfax Station man living in the 11600 block of Captain Rhett Lane was arrested for his second driving while intoxicated offense in five years. 
  • A 32-year-old Lorton man living in the 8200 block of Springwood Meadow Lane was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated on New Year's Day. 
  • A 24-year-old Lorton man living in the 8900 block of Telegraph Road was arrested Jan. 1 for creating a bomb/explosive.
