A 24-year-old Lorton woman is being held in the Arlington County Detention Center with no bond after being accused of assaulting an officer while being booked into jail.

Police were called to the 1900 block of South Arlington Ridge Road at about 1:10 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a car wreck, spokesman Dustin Sternbeck told Patch.

Officers arrived to find a Nissan sedan with damage to its front and rear and a flat tire in the front, he said.

They talked with the driver, Tamarshalita Johnson, who was there, and detected the smell of alcohol and slurred speech, Sternbeck said.

Officers attempted to give Johnson a field sobriety test, though she refused parts of that test, Sternbeck said. She was placed under arrest and taken to jail.

In the booking area, "she became very uncooperative and attempted to hit an officer," Sternbeck said. The officer was able to gain control of the situation and put her in a holding cell.

Johnson was charged with DUI, DUI refusal and assault on an officer.

The officer was not injured.
