Lorton Man Third Victim of Flooding Across Northern Virginia

Victim tried to help wife stuck by flood

A third drowning victim of Thursday's flooding across Fairfax County has been identified. The body of Galo Sebastian Salvador Vinueza, 25, of 9053 Two Bays Road in Lorton, was found this morning on base at the Davison Air Field. Vinueza received a call from his wife, whose car was momentarily stuck by the flood, and left home to look for her.

"He [Vinueza] went to meet her," said Fairfax County Police spokesperson Tawny Wright. "She calls him and says: 'I'm stuck in the road,' so he leaves the home to help her and when she gets home he's gone."

Vinueza's wife alerted police of her husband's disappearance after she arrived home after 8:00 p.m. She found his car parked in the 8800 block of Telegraph Road near the Accotink Creek Bridge.
