Lorton Man Robbed at Gunpoint on Evening Walk Home

The incident occurred in the area of Sheffield Village Lane and Sheffield Green Way.

An 18-year-old Lorton man was allegedly struck with a gun and robbed while walking home Tuesday night, July 31, by two suspects in the area of Sheffield Village Lane and Sheffield Green Way, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

The victim was approached at around 10 p.m. by two men, and one of them allegedly displayed a handgun. The armed suspect hit the victim with the gun and both suspects fled the scene with the victim's backpack and cell phone. The victim received minor injuries. 

Fairfax County Police offered vague descriptions of the suspects. They are described as black males between the ages of 17 and 20 years old, weighing between 130 and 200 pounds and both had black hair and brown eyes.

"Whenever a weapon is involved or displayed in a crime, some victims get so focused on the weapon that they no longer see anything else around them," said Fairfax County Police spokesman Eddy Azcarate.
