Fire Set in Levelle W. Dupell Park Totals Playground Equipment

Early Saturday morning Fairfax County firefighters were called to Levelle Dupelle Community Park off Newington Road.

When firefighters arrived they found playground equipment fully engulfed and extinguished it in short order. Investigators believe that the fire originated in the composite flooring.  Investigators also believe that the fire was intentionally set. The blaze caused over $15,000 in damage to playground equipment and is considered a total loss.
