Help the Capital Area Food Bank Combat Hunger in Northern Virginia

Are you aware that 8 million individuals, or 13 percent of Virginians, are at risk of hunger and that includes 2 million children?  Our neighbors living in Arlington, Fairfax and Prince William counties and the city of Alexandra are receiving 6 million pounds of food annually from the Capital Area Food Bank’s Northern Virginia distribution center in Lorton, but we desperately need help!

Members of the Northern Virginia business community are encouraged to attend a forum at the Capital Area Food Bank’s Northern Virginia distribution center in Lorton from 5:30 – 7 pm, Wednesday, March 19 to discuss the state of hunger in Northern Virginia and provide opportunities for corporate support to address this growing problem.

CAFB President and CEO Nancy E. Roman said, “A healthy, educated and prosperous community cannot be built on an empty stomach.  We are inviting members of our business community in Northern Virginia to an in-depth discussion of the regional implications of hunger and the best ways to apply a company’s insight and expertise to one of Northern Virginia’s most pressing social issues.”
