Mason Neck State Park Clean Up - National Day of Service

Mason Neck State Park Clean Up (National Day of Service – Environment)
The Cadette Girl Scout Troop 340 of Lorton, VA - and Service Unit 53-2 is sponsoring a Day of Service at Mason Neck State Park.

JOIN US!  Saturday, January 19th 9:30-noon or 12:30-3:00pm

This state park is refuge to countless wildlife including the protected eagles and one of the largest blue heron rookeries on the East Coast.  The park works with a limited (hard-working) crew to cover 1825 acres of land.

We will be tasked with spending a few hours outside walking trails and beaches, picking up trash, clearing brush and leaves from trails, cleaning the visitors center tanks, windows, shelves, etc.

Bring work gloves and dress for an active day outside.  Other tools with be provided by the Park.

Two shifts Available - come for one or both shifts or just some of one shift.

There are other events you can participate in either before or upon completing your volunteer hours including: 10:30 am Eagle Watch, 2pm Mammals of Mason Neck or the 4pm Trip to the Marsh on Bay View Trail

Rain Date: Sunday January 20th One shift only 12:30pm-3pm
