You Can't Beat The Price at the Lorton Library Book Sale

The three books in the picture - all for $5

Like to read and don't want to spend a bundle? has a book sale that never ends!

Today, Patch was working at the Library and couldn't help but buy a 2,700-page Webster's Dictionary ($4) and two highly acclaimed books - "The Corrections" by Jonathan Frazen and "The Prize" by Daniel Yergin (.50 cents each).

"The Friends of the Lorton Library use the proceeds from book sale to support the branch with magazine subscriptions, programming support and additional copies of books for all the children who visit the library," said branch manager Barbara Schrantz.

There are definitely some deals to be had - especially when thousands of hard and soft covers are donated to the library every year. Hardcovers go for $1 and soft covers are .50 cents.

Very interesting article! I would only correct Rob's math--a posted speed limit of 160 kilometersRead More per hour is equal to 99 miles per hour, not 80. And 220 km/hr equals 136 mph--no wonder his knuckles were white,

Yes, did not do the conversion correctly. When on the road, I just use the 50% figure for a roughRead More estimate. 136 was not too much fun! Thanks,
