A fatal crash involving a tractor trailer and a motorcycle on Interstate-95 North could cause significant delays Tuesday morning, according to a warning from the Virginia Department of Transportation.

"At 4:33 a.m. Tuesday, Virginia State Police were called to a two-vehicle crash in the northbound lanes of I-95 at the 165 mile marker/Fairfax Parkway. The crash involves a motorcycle and tractor-trailer. The motorcyclist is deceased. All northbound lanes are closed at this time," according to a message from Virginia State Police at 6:29 a.m. Tuesday.

On I-95 at mile marker 165.9 in Fairfax County, "motorists can expect major delays due to a tractor trailer accident. The north left shoulder, left lane, left center lane, right center lane, right lane, and right shoulder are closed. Traffic backups are approximately 9 miles," the traffic warning from VDOT reads.
