Celebrate Fairfax 2013: The B-52s, Ticket Information, How to Win $150, and Everything Else

The Celebrate Fairfax! Festival is less than a month away, and organizers have been busy preparing for the June 7 opening.

They know you've been busy, too, so they've extended their deadline for Celebrate's inaugural photo contest, which offers $300 in prize money for the best photographs of the natural beauty of Fairfax County.

You now have until May 15 to submit your photos.

The top 25 finalists chosen in the youth division (17 and under) will have their photographs displayed and will be given a free admission ticket to attend the festival. The top three photographs chosen will be awarded first, second and third place ribbons.

The top 50 finalists chosen in the open division will have their photographs displayed during the festival and will be eligible for cash prizes:

• Grand Prize: $150
• Second Place: $100
• Third Place: $50

Entrants under the age of 17 may enter the open division if they are interested in becoming eligible for the cash prizes. The top three winners will also have their photographs displayed on Patch and Celebrate Fairfax.

What does a ticket to Celebrate Fairfax get you? Among other activities, it gets you free concerts by Everclear, the B-52s and Spin Doctors.

Celebrate Fairfax has ticket deals, with a Super Early Bird online cost of $7 and youth admission tickets for $4. Prices begin increasing after Sunday.
