Blackstone's Title Leads South County to Third-Place Finish at Regionals

First ever Regional title for Stallions

South County wrestlers turned in an impressive collective performance Saturday at the 2011 Northern Region Wrestling Championships. The Stallions finished third on the day behind Robinson with 118 points at Fairfax High School.

Seven Stallion wrestlers advanced to Saturday’s championship round, and all seven either finished no less than sixth place in their weight brackets.

Scott Blackstone made school history as he became the first wrestler in South County history to win a Regional Championship event. Blackstone defeated Annandale’s John McCollom 6-0 in the 189 lb. weight bracket.
