The governor has declared the week of Dec 2 - 8 as Winter Preparedness Week in Virginia. Even though forecasts have been non-committal on the severity of this year’s winter, that doesn’t mean it won’t be without it’s share of peril. It’s still winter, after all, so it gets cold and snows. How much? I’ve made a chart of snowfall over the last 20 winters as measured at Dulles Airport. As you can see, some winters have a lot of snow, some have very little, and it looks like this year should be somewhere in the middle.
